NUTR 110 — Normal Nutrition with Lab

Total Credits Required for Degree: 66 credits *To receive departmental credit students must receive a grade of C or better in all Medical Assisting (MDAS) courses. A student must complete all required MDAS courses before taking the MDAS 275 Practicum. Medical Assisting Certificate The Medical Assisting Certificate is a closed apprenticeship program designed to fulfill the workforce development needs of health care providers in southern and mi d-coast Maine. Students must be qualified employees of a partner health care provider in order to be eligible for the program. This one year course of study has a blend of on -campus, online, and hybrid courses mixed with a 20 hour per week apprenticeship experience at a health care provider. Courses vary from four to twelve weeks in length. At the conclusion of the program, graduates are qualified to sit for board examinations through either the certifying board of the American Medical Technologists (AM T) to become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or through the certifying board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
