PSYC 230 — Sport Psychology
This course provides an overview of the major areas of research and application in the area of sport psychology. I t involves the study and application of psychological principles, which influence behavior, enhance skill acquisition, and maximize sport performance of athletes, coaches, and others involved in sports. Topics may include philosophies of sport, motivation, personality of coaches and athletes, recreational sports for children, training and learning principles, mind/body relationships, and the effects of anxiety, arousal, and relaxation on performance and current research in the field. This course is offered fall semester. Prerequisite(s): ENGL-080 or ENGL-101 or appropriate placement, PSYC-100 Corequisite(s): none
