RESP 101 — Gas, Humidity, and Aerosol Therapy

This course will allow students to achieve the technique, skills and understanding necessary to properly and effectively administer medical gas, humidification and aerosol treatment modalities. Common inhaled medications and methods of delivery will be discussed. The physiologic rationale, indications and contraindications will be stressed in addition to practices required for patient safety. An understanding of the physical principles defining equipment function will be required. Prerequisite(s): RESP program acceptance Corequisite(s): RESP-100, RESP-120
