RESP 172 — Clinical Ethics in Respiratory Care

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the ethical theories and principles encountered in the today’s healthcare environment. The principles of beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, justice and fairness will be explored. The focus of this case -based course will be intercultural communication, healthcare literacy, palliative and end of life care. Prerequisite(s): RESP-105, RESP-110, RESP-170 Corequisite(s): RESP-175
