RESP 200 — Neonatology and Pediatrics

This course is designed to give Respiratory Therapy students insight into special considerations involved in the respiratory care of the neonatal and pediatric patient. Emphasis will be given to lung embryology and morphology, abnormal cardiopulmonary and congenital anomalies of the newborn and overall respiratory care of the distressed neonate. Also discussed will be respiratory disease of infancy and childhood. Particular attention will be given to the specialized equipment used to maintain, monitor, and treat the neonatal-pediatric patient. Prerequisite(s): RESP-170, RESP-175 Corequisite(s): none
