SOCI 210 — Critical Thinking - Social Issues
This course will introduce students to the concepts and skills associated with critical thinking about social issues. Topics for the semester will include educational reform, energy, and sexual behavior. The course content will include reading and thinking critically; writing concisely and with conceptual clarity; developing convincing, rational arguments to support one's views; and understanding others arguments and perspectives. It is developed with the explicit aim of preparing the student for ad vanced courses while becoming an active thinker and learner outside of the discipline and college. This course has been designated as a writing-intensive course. Prerequisite(s): ENGL-100 or ENGL-101, SOCI-100 Corequisite(s): none
