EMS-1410 - Introduction to EMS* EMS-1410 - Introduction to EMS* As a foundation course, the following topics will be covered in cognitive format: the EMS system, research, roles and responsibilities, EMS communication systems, infection control, principles of pharmacology, medication administration, practitioner well-being, illness and injury prevention, ethics and legal issues, documentation, professionalism, Maryland EMS practice protocols, principles of pathophysiology, therapeutic communication, and human life-span development. Students must earn a minimum grade of C for all List Course
