HIT 285 — Advanced Data Analytics

This course is designed to assist students in their efforts to advance their skills in analytics for carious health care settings. The course will start with an overview of data mining techniques, tools for data organization/analysis, process of analyzing data, and the use of external data for benchmarking. These techniques and tools will be covered in the context of healthcare data using an electronic health record. The course will address the benefits and challenges of analyzing healthcare data, and the integration strategies for various data types commonly found in EHRs as well as environmental and biological data that affects healthcare. NOTE: This course requires access to a reliable internet connection to complete online assignments. Students must be competent computer and internet users.
