MATH 97 — Algebra for STEM

for Elementary Teachers I (Math 105). The primary goal of this course is to enable students to develop the graphing and algebraic skills needed for success in a first college math course in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and business. The course consists of the following topics: real numbers, linear equations and inequalities, graphs of equations and inequalities, functions, systems of linear equations, exponents and polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, roots and radicals, quadratic equations, and nonlinear inequalities. Use of a graphing calculator, as recommended by the instructor, is required for this course.
