Clinical microbiology is one of four major laboratory disciplines. The study of normal and pathogenic microflora emphasizes methods for isolation, recognition and identification of microorganisms of medical significance. Lecture material focuses on general characteristics pathogenicity and drug susceptibility of infectious organisms. Student laboratory instruction identification, and supplemental testing. Parasitology, mycology and virology are presented as an online learning module.
