PARL 240 — Torts

Students will gain an understanding of the basics of tort law and the causes of action for intentional torts, negligence and strict liability. Special topics covered will be products liability, professional malpractice, workers compensation and other current tort topics. Students will be required to complete several writing assignments including drafting a complaint that contains all of the elements of a tort in a cause of action. Emphasis will be placed on the application of theory to fact patterns so that students can identify a tort cause of action.
