This course is a study of the installation, operation, undesirable events, inspection, testing and maintenance of the safety devices and production equipment used on offshore platforms. Topics include flow, pressure, temperature and level sensors, gas and fire detection devices, surface and subsurface safety valves. Special emphasis will be on developing an understanding of Title 30 CFR parts 250 O &H and API Rp14-C as they relate to process safety.
