Cybersecurity Certificate
This program is offered as a Fully Online program. The prerequisites for entry are basic computer usage skills: editing files, navigating a file system, browsing the Web, basic knowledge of networking, and working knowledge or training in the Unix or Linux operating system. This certificate emphasizes understanding and demonstrated skills of the following concepts related to IT security: policies, intrusion detection systems, router security, TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), and network security basics; implementing and managing a firewall; auditing tools; basics of cryptography, biometrics, and file encryption; hardware and software designed to secure information network systems; and legal aspects of IT security.
