PHY-221 - Physics 1 PHY-221 - Physics 1 3 credits A non-calculus, introductory physics course, also called “mechanics”. Topics include kinematics, Newton’s Laws of Motion, work and energy, rotational motion, static equilibrium, conservation of linear and angular momentum. Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation, oscillatory and wave motion will be discussed. Includes a three-hour laboratory. Honors component with permission of instructor. The calculus based physics course equivalent in topic coverage is PHY-231 . Course previously known as: PHYS-130

Prerequisites: MAT-124, ENG-095, ENG-101
