EDU 101 - Introduction to Teacher Education EDU 101 - Introduction to Teacher Education 1 Credit(s) This course introduces students to the field of education and provides practical experience in PK-12 classrooms. Students will explore the realities of daily teacher preparation, including state standards for teacher candidates and PK-12 students, lesson plan development, educational policy, and Missouri’s degree and certification requirements. To successfully complete EDU 101, students must pass a criminal background check (required before entering PK-12 schools), join the state and local chapter of MSTA, and complete 4 hours of observation in a PK-12 classroom.
