Communication Arts & Literature Educat
The Communication Arts and Literature (CAL) major is an undergraduate teacher preparation program designed to teach grammar, Communication Studies, composition, and literature for future educators of grades 5-12. Students complete both English and education coursework in content, methods and pedagogy, lesson planning, instruction, assessment, and curriculum design. The CAL major aligns with Minnesota's licensing and standards requirements for Communication Arts and Literature in grades 5-12 in Minnesota.
