ARTA 107 - History of Contemporary Art ARTA 107 - History of Contemporary Art This course surveys the history of Contemporary Art, beginning with its roots in the Modernism of Europe at the beginning of the twentieth century and developing comparisons and historical connections to Contemporary Art in today’s world art market. Emphasis is placed on viewing art forms in context of their history and intention and understanding the philosophical foundations and critical theories that support and influence them.
