BIOS 150 - Nutrition, Fitness & Wellness BIOS 150 - Nutrition, Fitness & Wellness This course covers topics in sports nutrition and basic exercise science. The primary goal of this course is to develop the student’s understanding of how food fuels the body and affects optimal fitness and sports performance. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the roles of carbohydrate, protein, and fat in the diets of active people as well as the role that nutrition plays in disease prevention. Consideration is also given to the ways in which food, fluids, and nutritional supplements support optimal health and training, performance, and recovery.
