This project-based course allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Students will undertake complex, real-world projects that demonstrate their proficiency in GIS technology and its applications across various domains. The course is structured around semester-long individual and group projects to compile a professional portfolio. Throughout the course, students will engage in regular progress reviews, peer critiques, and professional development activities. They will also explore emerging trends and technologies in GIS, such as cloud-based GIS in a lab setting. The course emphasizes the development of project management skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication of technical information to both specialized and general audiences.
