GRAD 122 - Typography & Layout GRAD 122 - Typography & Layout This course is an introduction to typography and layout as applied to visual communication. Students will explore the history of typography, type recognition, typographic terms, fundamentals of type, and the appropriate use of typography in a variety of design applications. Emphasis is placed on the basic design principles of typographic compositions and typesetting. A range of theoretical and applied projects will be used to investigate typography as a fundamental communication tool. Students use both traditional and digital media employing page layout and software programs that utilize type. Prerequisite: GRAD 101 , GRAD 105
