HIST 102 - Hist of Western Civilization II HIST 102 - Hist of Western Civilization II This course is a survey of Western Civilization since 1648 with emphasis on the concepts and historical movements vital to understanding the modem world. Major topics include the development of law and government, the emergence of the major ideologies of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the industrial revolution and economic modernization, 20th century “isms” and the impact of social and cultural development in Western Europe.
