Preparation of the firefighter for functioning within an incident management system. Topics include the management system components, functions, responsibilities, and procedures. NIMS and ICS framework will be used throughout the course. Practical applications of ICS in addressing computer-based structural fire scenarios will take the student from the frequently encountered house fire to the complex commercial fires, nursing homes and high-rises. Decision making, communications, tactics and the command process will be reinforced throughout this course. 3.20 CEUs
