HDFS 232 — Diversity in Children Units: 3

This course focuses on the development of young children from birth through eight years old. Students will examine the ways children develop an emerging sense of self through complex and reciprocal interactions within multiple contexts. Topics will include language, culture, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, ability, and socioeconomic status. Students will also explore their own understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and apply concepts to their work with young children.
