ANTH A690D — Advanced Studies in the Contemporary North 3 Credits

Examines and evaluates contemporary Alaska topics, especially as they pertain to Indigenous peoples and communities and the broader Circumpolar North. Identifies ways in which anthropologists and archaeologists address these issues. Topical emphasis will vary by semester. Special Note: May be repeated once with a change of subtitle. Graduate students will be assigned more in-depth research, additional class readings and mentoring positions for undergraduates.
