BIOM A425 — Preparing for the MCAT and Beyond 3 Credits
Introduces students to evidence-based learning practices such as spaced retrieval practice, spaced repetition, interleaving, elaboration, dual-coding, and concrete examples in the context of preparation for the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test), a national standardized exam frequently used in the medical school admissions process to gauge the applicant’s readiness for medical school. The course fee includes a 90-day subscription to the UWorld MCAT question bank. Special Note: May be completed once for credit. Students are expected to have completed or be concurrently enrolled in the following MCAT-relevant science courses: Cell Biology, Genetics, Physics, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
