CSCE A375 — Fundamentals of Cryptocurrency Technologies 3 Credits

Introduces cryptographic primitives, data structures, and mining incentives underlying many cryptocurrencies. Topics include: cryptographic hash functions, Merkle trees, Poisson processes, Markov chains, Bloom filters, selfish mining, double spend attacks, and scaling issues. Security and privacy aspects of cryptocurrencies covered as well.
