EDL A610 — Orientation to Graduate Studies in Leadership 2 Credits

Provides an orientation to the scholar-practitioner model of study in the Educational Leadership Program. The orientation provides an overview of the knowledge, skills and dispositions for successful culturally proficient educational leadership. Areas of overview include leadership traits, issues of equity and social justice, writing skills and research skills, awareness of the National Educational Leadership Preparation Standards (NELPs), Alaskan Administrator Standards, Cultural Standards for Alaska Educators, SOE-Graduate Studies in Educational and Leadership Standards (GSEL), and International Society of Technology Educators-Education Leader Standards. Registration Restrictions: Admission to the Master of Education in Educational Leadership or the Graduate Certificate in Education Leadership: Principal and graduate standing
