Examines the history of England from roughly 1485-1714. Examines the development of the English monarchy, the Reformation's impact, the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution, and the establishment of parliamentary government. Emphasizes social and cultural shifts; economic, intellectual, scientific and literary developments; gender roles; and English overseas expansion and colonialism.
