Covers the capabilities and limitations of different manufacturing processes in terms of their feasibility, capital needs, economic considerations, and environmental impact. Analyzes the steps in processing a part and taking into account the geometrical complexity, process capabilities, surface finish, and tolerances for assembly. Design parts for machining, molding, casting, and sheet metal operations. Introduces methods for applied design for manufacturing and assembly.
