Examines the practice of molecular biology and its applications in the clinical laboratory. Topics include human genetics; isolation, amplification, discrimination and detection techniques for nucleic acids; and the design and operation of a molecular diagnostic laboratory. Introduces emerging diagnostics and their applications in the clinical laboratory. Registration Restrictions: Admission to the Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology or the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science
