PER A165 — Avalanche Hazard Recognition and Evaluation 1 Credit
Introduces travel techniques in avalanche-prone backcountry terrain. This is a field-oriented backcountry avalanche course covering rescue, terrain analysis, snow study, stability, evaluation, route-finding, decision-making and safe travel techniques. Special Note: Requires a good level of physical fitness. May require purchase or rental of additional equipment. Requires travel in mountainous terrain. Must have ability to function comfortably in inclement weather. May be repeated for credit.
