PMED A241L — Paramedicine I Lab 2 Credits

Presents the knowledge for paramedic practice, including patient assessment, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, airway management, pharmacology, intravascular access, medication administration and related emergency service fundamentals. Students will learn to formulate patient impressions and implement treatment plans. Special Note: Students must have the strength to be able to move victims, sufficient vision and hearing to assess the patient's condition, and dexterity to perform the skills application procedures. There are additional applications and fees for students who wish to be certified with the State of Alaska and/or National Registry. Registration Restrictions: Current Alaska Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician, and admission to the Associate of Applied Science in Paramedical Technology
