URS A188 — Research & Scholarship Foundations 1 Credit
Prepares students who are exploring Undergraduate Research to be effective mentees. Focuses on the knowledge and issues that facilitate research success and sense of belonging but that are often left implicit in other courses and mentored experiences. Special Note: This 11-week class begins week 3 of the semester. Course is ideally taken alongside a lower-division course that qualifies for experiential-research units for Honors in Research. Requires college-level communication skills (i.e. placement into 100-level writing and oral communications classes) but no substantive background. Intended for students who are early in their studies to explore whether and how undergraduate research might fit with their academic and career interests.
