Students will learn about and better understand family structure and its relation to society by using sociological methods and concepts. This course examines the diversity of U.S. families, using cross‐cultural views to encourage students to analyze contemporary issues such as gender roles, the formation and dissolution of families, employment and family conflicts, domestic violence, and social policies.
