ART1105 — Fundamentals of Painting

This course offers a hands-on opportunity to learn both traditional and contemporary painting techniques and to develop concepts for painting, while investigating the socio-economic, historical and personal motivations behind creative expression. Students will also be introduced to basic visual semictic theory, which will help them understand the structure of visual communication. Students will develop their own ideas and styles through specifically designed assignments with targeted goals.
