BIOL5515 — Microbial Diversity, Phylogeny
Evolutionary survey and characteristics of microorganisms focusing on autotrophic and heterotrophic prokaryotes from various habitats. Isolation, examination, and identification of bacteria from field collections using microscopic, physiological, biochemical, molecular, phylogenetic, and computer database techniques. (1 hour lecture and 4 hours lab) Pre-req: graduate student or instructor consent
