BMS8029 — Prof, Learning & Leadership I
This course will focus on the development of critical skills dealing with professionalism, learning and leadership. The overall goal is to provide students with the tools to acquire the skills of successful life-long learners. Students need to develop numerous soft skills to successfully navigate a Masters program and, eventually, medical school. Some students arrive at college with most of these skills formed, at least in part. Yet students from underserved backgrounds typically complete college without most of these key skills, which is a significant liability in the application to medical school and later success. The course will introduce skills and opportunities to practice them in small groups. The students will complete milestones like a self-assessment and provide reflections as part of their personal growth and class grade. Prereq: graduate health student
