CE4257 — Municipal Waste Management
The class is an introduction to design solid waste management. Specific topics covered include: waste characterization, route planning, collection technologies, resource recovery systems (recycling), energy recovery (refuse derive fuel), landfill design (staging, leachate management, landfill gas management), and cover system design. An overview of soil and groundwater remediation technologies will also be provided. prereq: CE 3025 or CHEM 2212 or CHEM 2222 or CHE 2111 or CHE 2211 or instructor consent
