CS5442 — Parallel Programming

This is a course on parallel programming that teaches the principles and practice for designing, implementing, and modeling the performance of parallel programs. The course will cover material on shared memory programming on multicore architectures, GPU programming, message passing programming models, the theoretical evaluation of parallel programs, along with many examples of parallel algorithms. Credit for CS 5442 will not be granted if credit already received for CS 4442. Prerequisites: Grad student OR CS 2511, CS 2521,(CS 2531, CS 3512, or MATH 3355) OR instructor consent; a grade of C- or better is required in all prerequisite courses.
