System mathematical modeling: differential equations, Laplace transform, block diagrams, signal flow graphs. System performance characteristics: time response, sensitivity, steady-state error. Stability analysis: Routh-Hurwitz, root locus and Nyquist. State variables. Compensation design, software tools. (3 hrs lect, 3 hrs lab). This course may have a course fee. prereq: EE 2111
