This course offers a global perspective of the intersection of politics and economics and the unique way they affect each other and jointly influence political and economic values, goals, public policy choices, and economic growth and development. The course will put special emphasis on the political economy of developing countries. Among the topics covered will be economic globalization, multinational corporations, foreign direct investment, portfolio investment, money and finance, and trade.
