ANTH3005 — Policy Problems
This course will introduce central analytical concepts in political and legal anthropology and use qualitative/ethnographic analysis to discuss the lived outcomes of policy and how they can differ from the intentions of policymakers. Readings will situate policy within its socio-political contexts (including cultural norms, social hierarchies, and late-stage capitalism), highlight the processes that inform policy as practice, and the ways it can be contested. prereq: 1111 or Soc 1101
