Examination of cultural understandings of rural communities. Using an Anthropological perspective, issues such as development, political and economic systems, race, and social inequities are examined. Using case studies and policy analysis, course questions the real differences between rural and urban cultures and attitudes. prereq: 1111 or Soc 1101
