FREN3001 — ALS:Phonetics and Conversation
In this course, you will hone your oral communication skills in French by studying the International Phonetic Alphabet and using it to analyze French words and phrases. You will also learn the precise articulation of vowels and consonants, as well as other important parts of French speech, such as liaison, enchainement, and intonation. These phonetic skills will be applied to various in-class conversations to encourage you to develop your vocabulary and confidence in speaking French. Meets Advanced Language Studies (ALS) requirement in French major. prereq: 2002 or placement
