GEOL1802 — Earth and the Silver Screen
Geology and earth science have long been fixtures in cinematic films, whether presenting the majesty of open landscapes, exploring geologic problems, or surviving natural hazards. Utilizing selected scenes and full features, students will assess and discuss films' scientific and cinematic strengths and weaknesses, and the role of fictional films in shaping public perceptions and comprehension of the earth sciences.
