Processes of sedimentation, including origin, transportation, and deposition of sediments; interpretation of sedimentary environments. Principles of stratigraphy and their applications. Lab work includes sedimentary particle analysis; stratigraphic sections; and interpretation of ancient sedimentary environments based on stratified sequences of sedimentary rock.
