SOC3451 — Social Movements
Introduces students to the sociological study of social movements by using examples of environmental and health movements. Explores basic concepts of social movements, including how social movements arise, the variety of effects they may have, and the ways they might go into decline. Analyzes a variety of environmental and health social movements in depth, including how these movements frame and define progress, health, sustainability, and justice. prereq: sophomore status or above
