NURE 207 - Introduction to Acute and Chronic Nursing Concepts NURE 207 - Introduction to Acute and Chronic Nursing Concepts Continuing with the framework of Patient Centered Care, Teamwork and Collaboration, Evidence-Based Practice, Quality Improvement, Safety, and Information Management, this course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude required for specific areas of nursing practice in order to deliver safe and appropriate care to adult and pediatric patients in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. Within the structure of the Nursing Process, principles of health and illness are integrated with knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and leadership and management. Building upon the concepts from NURE 105 & NURE 106, students are introduced to pediatric growth and development and cellular regulation and continue to explore concepts related to acute and chronic nursing. Students participate in clinical experiences in the Learning/Simulation Center, and in acute and chronic adult and pediatric health care settings for the application of associated nursing principles. 5 lecture and 10.5 clinical hours per week 7 credit hours
