NURM 103 - Essentials of Professional Nursing Concepts NURM 103 - Essentials of Professional Nursing Concepts This course explores the role of the accountable, responsible registered nurse as it relates to the delivery of evidence-based care utilizing clinical judgment while focusing on the medical-surgical patient experiencing health issues. Emphasis is placed on developing skills, health promotion and wellness, and teaching-learning principles. Clinical experiences are in the acute care setting of medical-surgical units, simulation lab as well as in the community they serve. The student nurse gains experience in analyzing and interpreting patient data for an accurate nursing diagnosis and the delivery of nursing care in the clinical setting. 5 lecture and 10.5 clinical hours per week 7 credit hours
