It is designed to build a strong theoretical base and develop the clinical judgment necessary for delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Core components include a comprehensive study of the nursing process, health and physical assessments, therapeutic communication, and health promotion across the lifespan. The curriculum places significant emphasis on opportunity for belonging as it impacts care, as well as legal, ethical, and spiritual considerations in patient care. While one aspect of the learning is theoretical, including self-guided modules for medical terminology, it is complemented by hands-on application of skills, such as safe medication administration, in laboratory, simulation, and diverse clinical settings like hospitals and nursing homes. 5 hours; Clinical: 16.5 hours 11 credit hours
